Who we are?

OFoundation is a social enterprise, dedicated to make the world a better place. We are a platform that connects the ideas of our contributors to the right people and resources. With these change-making initiatives, we aim to raise awareness based on our vision and mission.

We strive towards a world where the people – including their next generations – can live together in equality and peace. OFoundation believes that social impact and innovation must be united, innovation of technology, of the economic system, of our values. We thus support projects on the basis of the principle that we can have a positive influence on society as a system. Our influence promotes equal human rights, freedom of expression, empowerment, alleviating poverty, a sustainable relationship with the environment, and human flourishing. It is necessary to raise awareness, link effective projects with change-makers, and to simply take action.

OFoundation turns away from the traditional aid-model: that donating money allegedly solves social challenges. Instead, we turn towards sustainable entrepreneurship. Our views support the use of social media to raise awareness of fair conduct, to promote the fact that sustainable development is possible, and to welcome people to join the movement. Using popular media, in the broad sense of the word, we allow people to make the change they want to make. Lastly, we believe that everyone can contribute. Anyone who stands by the OFoundation values and has a positive vision towards the development of humanity will find in us a partner and support.

Our History

Over the years, OFoundation has developed from a center for economic development aid to the multifaceted platform we are today. What remained the same over this period is the involvement of young visionaries. From all over the Netherlands, including from the University of Amsterdam, University of Utrecht, University College Amsterdam, University Tilburg, Radboud University Nijmegen, and Hogeschool Amsterdam, young- professionals have contributed to our concept. Most of our members and alumni are under 25 and they develop and carry out our projects.

In its original form, OFoundation was formed around the concept of microfranchising. We aimed to understand the practice of this promising concept and even aimed to conduct our own project. This project has evolved into what is the ‘Circular Development Challenge’ today. That process proved to be an incredible educational experience. Not only did it improve our understanding of development aid and stimulating an economy, but the welcoming development community taught us how much is possible if you have a well organized idea and committed members.

Over the years, people with a wide array of different backgrounds contributed their ideas to the existing concept, and expanded OFoundation. The newly developed models, based on the ideas of our young members, have been presented to successful entrepreneurs, spiritual and societal leaders, CEOs and leading NGOs. Their support and valuable advice, together with the fresh visions of our young-professionals, were the motor behind our growth.

To this day, we operate with close regards to these expert opinions, and their involvement allows for a professional environment where young- professionals are encouraged to put their ideas into practice.

Marko Nikolovski, DJ

“It all started like this. I have always been a fan of music, and three years ago I started producing. Together with my friends at, we created a label in order to release our music. Currently, we have extended with more artists and our own booking office, we do label showcases in different cities in the Netherlands and we have residencies in Amsterdam, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Atlanta, Belgrado, Skopje, Kumanovo and Bitola (Macedonia). Additionally, we are regular DJ in many clubs in Amsterdam. We have played at events that involved up to 20.000 people.

The RеволуциЯ (Revolutions) events are my personal passion that I want to focus on in the future. These events involve socially aware parties, and we give 50% of our profit to charity or another organization we wish to aid. Furthermore, we conduct projects to raise awareness for local problems, using online videos and social media like Facebook and YouTube. This brought me to OFoundation. I am honored to call myself ambassador of OFoundation. The least I can do for this group is to draw attention to them during my events. Meanwhile I support this wonderful foundation through collaboration during events.”

“Through my travels, I have been able to see many different places in this world, and as many of you know, not all of them are rich like the places that we see most of our lives. We are far away from the problems, but there is a huge disbalance on this planet, and we have to behave ourselves. You and I, we are smart enough to solve these problems! Our generation can change this!

I am immensely proud to let you know I am ambassador for OFoundation – a social enterprise, founded by a young team with a big vision and a surely smart approach to changing the futue – to help them spread the word about their ideas and different projects. I think this is a big first step in the right direction!
